Pair of big rudd can’t resist a popped-up grub

BIG rudd are synonymous with summer, and Matthew Fernandez is just one of many anglers who have recently been targeting the species.

This fine pair, weighing 2lb 14oz and 2lb 8oz, were feeding over a bed of Sticky Baits Krill Active mixed with hemp and pellets that the 29-year-old from Southampton had introduced with the aid of a Spomb.

Both fish were caught from a stillwater in the south of the UK on feeder rigs and maggot hookbaits that were popped-up with a small piece of foam.
