Amazed at quality of fishing on the Broads

LAST year I enjoyed my first-ever holiday on the Broads, and was staggered at the numbers of fish in the rivers there.

Over the course of a week we cruised around most of the northern Broads, stopping each night so we could rest up and get a bite to eat.

We chose places on the basis that they were convenient for mooring up, rather than being obvious fishing spots, but I still couldn’t resist wetting a line whenever I got the opportunity.

On the holiday I must have fished in about six different locations – all picked at random – and I got instant bites each time.

I had bream to 5lb, lots of quality roach and even a personal-best perch of 2lb 7oz!
