Our job to promote this fantastic scheme

NATIONAL Fishing Month is a fantastic idea, but it will only be a success if existing anglers get involved.

People that have never even thought about fishing before will be completely unaware that this event is going on, so it is up to us to promote the free coaching and tuition sessions in our local area.

A couple of years ago I took a friend along to one of the taster sessions and he is now a mad-keen angler who has spent thousands of pounds on tackle and bait.

If all of us tried our best to get just one additional person involved in angling we would soon have thousands more people on the banks of rivers and stillwaters. James Pilkington, Leatherhead
