Bream made up the winning weight on the river, with peg 1 above Hulse’s Island seeing Darren Frost book his final spot thanks to 23-8-0 of them taken on groundbait feeder with worm and maggot. Dan Ashington also won his zone and made it through on 14-1-0, a net of roach plus a bonus bream, as he fished long pole and maggot from peg 27 on Vale Royal Arches. Joining them in the final was the winner of the third zone, Ben Roberts, with 8-7-0.

Frankie, on peg 16 of the same lake, followed suit using long pole and pellet tactics for 151-7-0 of big carp and F1s.

That was some way in front of Phil Austin, who also fished feeder and worm to weigh in 34-4-0 of bream, perch and skimmers.
