Family Fishing pulls in the crowds

-

MORE than 5,000 people were introduced to fishing as part of a successful scheme that showcased the sport at the BBC’s Countryfile Live.

‘Family Fishing’ hosted the event, a spin-off from the BBC TV series that took place at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. The four-day extravaganza saw teams from award-winning charity Get Hooked on Fishing and the Angling Trust use a mix of angling activities to show how fishing is an ideal way to spend time together and learn about the countryside.

Sarah Collins, Chief Executive Officer at Get Hooked on Fishing, said: “We’ve never experienced such an overwhelmingly busy Family Fishing event, with fully booked sessions each day.

“Hats off to the awesome team of volunteers, the BBC team for a brilliantly well-organised and presented event, and LNC Outdoors for all the hard work of their instructors alongside our own angling coaches.”
