Grand Union cats netted and then rehomed

YOU just don’t know what’s lurking in your local canal these days, as officers from the Canal & River Trust discovered recently when a routine netting operation produced two monster catfish.

The two specimens, one of which weighed nearly 20kg, were discovered in the Grand Union Canal at Soulbury Locks in Buckinghamshire during a fish population survey. They were subsequently removed by the team and rehomed at another venue nearby.
