SHALLOWS ON SONG...

RUSH Lyvars near Hull has a match/pleasure water (The Shallows) and a specimen carp lake (The Deeps).

The Shallows supports a big head of carp, tench, bream ide and silverfish.All 50 pegs are well spaced. Anglers are catching down the edge and at around 12m on pole or waggler with paste, dead maggots, pellets or casters.

Venue regular and Browning- backed matchman James Hall fished this pool recently and had a good day on the short pole, feeding micros and fishing a banded 4 mm pellet over the top. On the long line he fished banded caster shallow at 13m for ide, bream and F1s, chucking in small balls of micro pellets.

The Deeps offers specimen carp anglers lots of runs with the odd bigger fish to 30lb.
