John’s infectious love of fishing inspires me
JOHN Wilson has been a huge presence in angling for decades, and it amazes me how passionate he still is about his fishing.
He’s travelled the world catching almost every species that swims, yet the item in last week’s Angling Times showing him with his biggest-ever stillwater fish shows he still gets a buzz out of wetting a line.
John has been hugely inspirational to thousands of anglers, and his TV shows were so diverse, covering angling of all disciplines from tiny UK rivers right the way through to exotic seas on the other side of the planet.
I was very lucky to meet him at an angling show several years ago and I was particularly pleased that his infectious laugh is genuine, and not just put on for the cameras!
It’s fantastic to see your passion is well and truly alive John – keep it up!
