Anyone else want to go back to basics?

WHEN I was younger, fishing was so much simpler.

Back in the early 1960s I used to carry all my kit with me on my bike, as we didn’t have a car.

Now, 50 odd years on, I am looking at starting fishing again but it seems as if I will need a large van and a budget of several thousand pounds!

Does nobody fish with a light load these days – with just a rod, a reel, a box to sit on and a few maggots? I hope they do, as that’s the way I’d like to go. Robert Shotton, email
