BAG 50lb OF CHUB, BARBEL AND MORE
IT MAY look like little more than a small stream but the River Swale at Morton in North Yorkshire is alive with big fish.
Run by Northallerton AC, the stretch is throwing up stunning catches of chub and barbel. A recent Riverfest match on the venue saw nets topping nearly 50lb, and Angling Times writer Dave Harrell qualify for the bigmoney final later in the year.
Like most who fish here, Dave used waggler tactics with loosefed casters to tempt chub to 4lb-plus, but this venue also provides some great catches on the stick float, bomb and feeder, particularly when the water is up.
