Two barbel for 20lb 1oz sew up match

TWO bites were all Danny Willdig needed to win a match when he banked two barbel for 20lb 1oz.

This, by far the larger of the pair, pulled the scales down to 13lb 5oz and fell to a legered piece of krill-flavoured meat over the top of a bed of hempseed during a contest on the River Derwent in Duffield – a stretch controlled by Derbyshire Angling Federation.

Danny hooked the 13-pounder just two minutes into the contest to leave the rest of the field standing.
