TIME YOUR BITES

-

AT THE start of a match I will look to cast every five minutes to build the swim up and get some bait down – I use my old watch (above) for this, and I would struggle without it.

I also like to time my bites, so I normally use a stopwatch and press the ‘start’ button as soon as I cast out. Then, if get a bite, I have a quick look at the watch to see how long the feeder has been in the water. More often than not, a pattern will emerge and I can then adjust the frequency of my casting to make the most of this.
