CRAIG McEvoy’s successful 2016 continued with the capture of his eighth 40-pounder of the year.

His latest session saw him bank three carp for more than 108lb in just 48 hours at the Avenue in Shropshire.

“I caught one of the originals, which is one of my target fish, called Moonscale at 40lb 8oz,” said Craig, “It’s my eighth forty of the year!”

Having found a clay bay 70yds out at the 10-acre RH Fisheries syndicate venue, Craig also went on to catch two thirties for a

combined weight of 108lb 2oz.

He said: “The session got even better when I braced it with a dark mirror of 30lb 2oz. The following morning saw me complete the trio with another target fish called Big Bertha at a weight of 37lb 8oz.

“These fish were caught in blistering heat and I was amazed to get a bite, let alone three! There I was, standing in my boxer shorts playing these monsters. It felt more like fishing abroad than in the UK.”

Craig baited with a combination of Mainline Cell and Hybrid boilies.
