Dash for the league cash

IT may be the peak of summer, but top commercial fisheries are already making plans for this year’s big-money winter leagues.

Thousands of pounds are up for grabs in various tournaments, and spaces are already starting to fill up in numerous popular events.

Cheshire’s Partridge Lakes is among those that have revealed the dates for three big competitions.

An eight-match team league will run on Saturdays between November 12 and March 4, with a 10-match team event also being run on Sundays.

Those that wish to compete individually can get stuck into a five-match series.

“Last year’s winter leagues were a major success and we’ve already had lots of interest in the events we are going to run this time round,” said Partridge boss Dave Ikin.

Staff at Doncaster’s Lindholme Lakes have also put 11 dates in the diary.

Seven of those matches will count towards your final score, with a prize fund of at least £3,000.
