TOP 5 TIPS
1 If you have never sea fished, give it a go on holiday this summer with your carp gear. This could mean a mullet in the estuary, a wrasse from the rocks or a bass between the surf – there are many opportunities. 2 Don’t fish too heavy for black bream. Carp hooks are perfect, just add a couple of small fluorescent beads to the hooklength for visual stimulation. 3 Try an open-end feeder with a fishy groundbait in the sea. With such an expanse of water, anything to draw the attention of fish in the area is a help. 4 I soak my mixers in Sticky’s Cap Oil. The slick flattens the surface and encourages a feeding response. 5 When floatfishing for summer chub don’t go too light. It’s better to feed them until they lose caution than get an early bite and spook the shoal.
