1 FLOATING CRUST

ON SMALL, shallow rivers in warm weather a surefire way to locate a few chub is with pieces of floating bread crust.

It might take a few feeds, but watch out for fish rising for them. After you’ve gained the chub’s confidence it’s time to introduce a hookbait on a large size 4 or 6 hook.

If you don’t have to make much of a cast, a freelined bait is best.
