TRY fish­ing into the hours of dark­ness, when fish are less likely to be spooked by your vis­ual pres­ence and the larger chub ven­ture out from cover. You’ll need an iso­tope on the rod-tip but be­ware – sounds are am­pli­fied at night and it still pays to tread care­fully and keep dis­tur­bance to a min­i­mum.
