CATCHING big fish on the Trent usually involves feeder tactics, but Nick West took a series of lumps and a 22-8-0 winning catch on the float.

Drawn on Baileys peg 33, he used the stick float and maggot to extract a brace of quality chub, a 3lb bream, perch and a big barbel.

Adey Reynolds also relied on floatfishing and used the pole with maggot and hemp from peg 18 at Broadholme for 17-7-0 of quality roach.
