Angling Trust/Canal & River Trust Stillwater Championship Final Boddington Reservoir (48 pegs)

IN WARM and blustery conditions, it was Barry Bush who took the silverware and walked away over £1,600 richer.

The Birkenhead angler was the last to draw and ended up on fancied peg 2. With the wind hacking down that end, it was clear the fish would be sat in the area. He got off to a steady start by taking six quality carp in the first hour and a half.

Sport then stepped up a notch and, by the end of the session, he had landed 24 fish to 12lb for an 80-360 total.

Fluoro wafters fished on the bomb around 30yds out did the business, easily beating Paul Keal into second place with 47-300 from peg 99.

Result: 1 B Bush, Birkenhead, 80-360; 2 P Keal, Towcester, 47-300; 3 A Ashington, Ringer Baits, 42-980; 4 S Ringer, Daiwa/Guru, 42-840; 5 P Walker, 42-680; 6 P Knapman, 42-160.

Six quality carp in 90 minutes got him off to a steady start
