Massive Trent perch falls to lure angler

A ROVING lure fishing session on the River Trent turned out to be a trip to remember for Lee Coupe when he netted this stunning 3lb 11oz perch.

Fishing with pal Martyn Welch, the Nottingham rod started the session by banking numerous perch to over 2lb before Martyn’s rod was tested by a rogue 4lb chub.

After taking several more smaller fish from different swims, Lee got the dream take when the giant stripey snapped at his Savage Gear Vibra Prey lure.

The perch, which was 45cm long, set a new personal best for Lee by 2oz.
