GET DOWN TO DENTS FARM NOW
IF STUNNING scenery is just as important as the fishing itself then Dents Farm Fishery should be on your hit list this week.
The five-lake complex will provide a breathtaking backdrop for your day on the bank, and the most scenic of them all is undoubtedly the Farm Shop Lake.
A mixed stocking policy has been adopted on the 30-peg water, with 60lb-plus nets of rudd, skimmers, crucians and tench a genuine possibility to those that work with either a pellet or worm and caster attack on the pole. If the big carp take your fancy, fish tight to any of the central reed beds with a bright boilie alongside a PVA bag of crushed offerings or pellets.
Kingfisher Pool is much smaller, with just 11 pegs, but it holds the same kind of charm and is capable of similar sport.
On the other side of the fishery are Spinney, Two Island and Willow Lakes. Each of the three has depths down to 15ft and, as a result, shallow fishing scores heavily. Start on the pole or pellet waggler at half-depth and keep feeding regularly for carp to double figures.
A late assault in the margins with dead maggots over groundbait can be equally effective. PRICES: £6 a day, dawn until dusk
