A RECENT open match here saw some excellent weights, with the entire field recording double-figure nets.
This slow moving stretch has depths down to around 9ft in the centre channel.
The weights were largely made up of skimmers averaging 2lb and most anglers were catching these fishing the groundbait feeder with worm or maggot. The river also contains a lot of roach. Big bags of them can be caught on simple whip and maggot tactics.
