Evergreen Ken is still fishing at age of 90

-

I THOUGHT I’d let you know about my father-in-law Ken Hall, who is 90 this month.

Ken set up and ran Moorlands Farm Fishery’s kids’ matches and spent many hours helping them. He was also a founder member and is Vice President of the Starlet Vets, which was set up so that pensioners could enjoy a day’s fishing.

Back in the 1950s and 1960s he won countless competitions, and made his own floats which he would give to other anglers.

He’s also been a voluntary bailiff for the BAA and is the only original member of Boreley Angling Club, which has had a stretch of the River Severn since he acquired it for them well over 40 years ago.

Ken has such a great passion for fishing and has always had the patience and time to encourage others to get involved in the sport. Even now he still likes to go fishing but spends more time in the garden, sharing gardening tips with his friend and former England matchman Ken Giles.
