John is King of the Fens

EXPERIENCE counts for a lot in match fishing, and when it comes to catching silverfish to win there are few better in the Eastern region than Sensas Mark One man John Taylor, affectionately known as ‘118’ after his trademark handlebar moustache.

The weekend saw John topping the final round of the King of the Fens series on the Middle Level Drain with 15-2-8 of roach and skimmers, 24 hours after he had ventured to Norfolk’s tidal River Yare and taken second overall in the 54-peg match with 14-6-0 of small skimmers on the feeder.

Ian Cochrane won that match with 24-10-0.
