THE Thames was in form for this ea­gerly-awaited three-day fes­ti­val, bream grab­bing the head­lines on the open­ing day be­fore the roach took over.

Maver man Bradley Gib­bons was crowned cham­pion with a five-point score, a per­for­mance that in­cluded joint sec­ond place over­all on day two be­hind win­ner Si­mon Willsmore’s 17-14-0 of hemp roach.

Day one was won by Steve San­ders with 39-1-0 of bream on the feeder from Ap­ple­ford.

The same sec­tion saw John Wee­den take the fi­nal day with a 26-3-0 net of tench on pole and worm.
