Maver man’s consistency decides three-day festival

THE Thames was in form for this eagerly-awaited three-day festival, bream grabbing the headlines on the opening day before the roach took over.
Maver man Bradley Gibbons was crowned champion with a five-point score, a performance that included joint second place overall on day two behind winner Simon Willsmore’s 17-14-0 of hemp roach.
Day one was won by Steve Sanders with 39-1-0 of bream on the feeder from Appleford.
The same section saw John Weeden take the final day with a 26-3-0 net of tench on pole and worm.
