VARY YOUR LINKS

MOST carpers use hooklinks of between 8ins and 12ins.

Switching to a shorter (4ins-5ins) or much longer hooklink (18ins) gives the carp a totally different set of circumstances to deal with and can transform your catch rate. On gravelly areas go for shorter hooklinks, and over silty or weedy areas, go longer.
