1 Don’t stop prebaiting. Many anglers tend to cut it down as the nights start drawing in.

2 I soak my boilies in hemp oil, as it’s one of the best attractors. Take your baits out of the freezer and they will soak the oil up as they defrost.

3 Try using a hooklink that’s at least 12ins long when using boilies on the hook, as big carp get used to being caught on shorter versions and have a tendency to reject the bait.

4 If you’re using three rods, fish at least two with the baits you’ve been feeding.

5 Don’t get distracted. Too many anglers sit back and listen to the radio, watch an iPad or are stuck to the screen on their phone without listening and looking out for signs of fish.
