Gar­bolino boss shows ver­sa­til­ity on two meth­ods

THIS match is a lit­tle un­usual as an­glers fish for three hours on the feeder, take a break to weigh in and then fish the same peg for a fur­ther three hours on the pole be­fore weigh­ing in again. Their to­tals are then tot­ted up.

Gar­bolino UK boss Dar­ren Cox mas­tered both dis­ci­plines to win on weight af­ter scor­ing three points to tie with run­nerup Mick Bull and third­placed Roly McEneaney.

Dar­ren drew peg 24 and fished the feeder match with Method and wafter pel­let to take skim­mers, a cou­ple of carp and a few F1s to weigh in 42-0-0.

His ef­forts on the pole then saw pel­let at 14.5m give him a 14lb carp backed by lots of big skim­mers for a lit­tle over 72-0-0 and a clear win over Mick.

Re­sult: 1 D Cox, Gar­bolino, 3pts (su­pe­rior weight); 2 M Bull, Fren­zee, 3; 3 R McEneaney, Shi­mano/Dy­na­mite Baits, 3.
