Bob Church has done so much for our sport
AFTER reading that some of Bob Church’s cherished fishing tackle is being auctioned off, I was reminded just how much a legend Bob is.
There have been hundreds of top class anglers in various disciplines but few of them have enjoyed the shelf life that Bob has.
Although his angling life in the public eye has now calmed down, a lot of youngsters are still aware of just how good he was.
In my eyes, it was Bob’s versatility that was the most impressive thing about him. He was as good at catching trout on the fly as he was bagging carp off the surface, and there aren’t many anglers who have such a wide range of skills.
Bob is an absolute legend who will always be held in high regard by anglers of all ages and generations.
