Staggered that zander aren’t being protected
IN AN age where predator fishing is putting a lot of money into the pockets of tackle shops and manufacturers, I am staggered that the authorities aren’t doing more to protect zander stocks.
I understand that they didn’t originate from this country but neither did carp, which are widely accepted.
The Environment Agency doesn’t seem to care less about zander and I really can’t see it pushing for a change in legislation to give them proper protection.
These fish have become a popular target with anglers in recent years and proper laws should be in place to give them the opportunity to thrive. Rob Hudson, Kettering
