Tidy tackle, tidy results

-

IN THE past I have been guilty of having very untidy fishing tackle.

My rig tray had bits of line trailing everywhere, winders that weren’t labelled, and drawers full of rubbish – including old casters!

While I sat there looking pretty scruffy, other anglers around me had everything in order and really looked the part. I didn’t think it would make any difference to my results, but somehow those anglers always beat me in club matches.

I cleaned up my act and my gear, and although it took a few months to get sorted, it made a huge difference.

I was able to pick up a different rig for a quick change or add another shot within seconds, rather than having to root around for the dispenser.

The ‘fail to prepare, prepare to fail’ motto definitely rings true in angling. Eddie Brewer, Abingdon
