THE Suf­folk Dis­abled An­glers’ Fo­rum is the proud win­ner of this year’s Cosyfeet Com­mu­nity Award.

The char­ity has won £500 to­wards the cost of equip­ment and bait.

It pro­vides the op­por­tu­nity for peo­ple with dis­abil­i­ties to gain ac­cess to angling, and runs ses­sions at Woody’s Lake near Ip­swich, Suf­folk, from May to Oc­to­ber.

Vol­un­teers and angling coaches pro­vide all the skills, ex­pe­ri­ence and knowl­edge to help dis­abled peo­ple en­joy their coarse fish­ing.

The group is 50 mem­bers strong and it is made up of wheel­chair users, am­putees and peo­ple with learn­ing dif­fi­cul­ties, as well as those re­cov­er­ing from strokes.

Cosyfeet makes ex­tra roomy footwear for peo­ple with swollen feet and has an ac­tive pol­icy of giv­ing back to the com­mu­ni­ties it serves.
