A well-deserved award

-

THE Suffolk Disabled Anglers’ Forum is the proud winner of this year’s Cosyfeet Community Award.

The charity has won £500 towards the cost of equipment and bait.

It provides the opportunity for people with disabilities to gain access to angling, and runs sessions at Woody’s Lake near Ipswich, Suffolk, from May to October.

Volunteers and angling coaches provide all the skills, experience and knowledge to help disabled people enjoy their coarse fishing.

The group is 50 members strong and it is made up of wheelchair users, amputees and people with learning difficulties, as well as those recovering from strokes.

Cosyfeet makes extra roomy footwear for people with swollen feet and has an active policy of giving back to the communities it serves.
