RINGER IS IN A CLASS ALL OF HIS OWN!

World Feeder Champ dominates in Ireland

- FEEDERFEST IRELAND (TUES-MON) Inniscarra Lake (100 pegs)

THIS cash-rich event drew top anglers from around Europe, and it was former World Feeder Champion Steve Ringer who came out on top to take the €5,000 prize plus over £2,000 of Sensas tackle as he finished the five days of action with 52-010.

Irish rod Neil Mazurek was second on 46-070, with England man Dean Barlow taking third on 45-200.

Steve began his week with

9-300 of roach and a few skimmers on cage feeder and single maggot at short range from his peg on the Greenway section, the same area and approach giving him 6-900 on day two. The third match produced 12-200 of roach and the odd skimmer before Steve kept up the pressure with 10-400 on day four from the graveyard section. The final day put him on ‘The Concrete’ and he saved the best until last, taking more than 200 roach on feeder and maggot for 13-200.

Result: 1 S Ringer, Daiwa/Guru, 52-010; 2 N Mazurek, Cootehill, 46-070; 3 D Barlow, Drennan/Bait-Tech, 45200; 4 A Wakelin, Preston Innovations, 44-120; 5 R Wootton, Shimano/Dynamite Baits, 42-520; 6 L Koot, Netherlands, 41-460.
