TOUCH OF COLOUR – MAGGOTS OR PELLETS

-

Most river anglers would class these as ideal conditions, with virtually all species feeding well. The pace of the current is likely to be steady, with plenty of gentle glides and slacks to target. If you fancy a spot of floatfishing, a stick float or waggler with maggots will pick up everything that swims. Feed 10-15 maggots every 30 seconds and you can expect action from roach, perch, dace and even chub. Bigger fish can be picked out on legered pellets. Halibut pellets release lots of scent and are more exclusive, giving barbel, chub and bream the chance to get a meal that the silverfish can’t engulf.
