WOOD LAKE (15+ SWIMS)

-

With the backdrop of an established wood, Wood Lake is the specimen lake at Puddledock Farm. The stocking is pretty much only carp, with a good head of fish in the 12lb-18lb range, and fish in the low twenties up to 30lb available too. There are also lots of smaller home-bred carp here that can be good fun for the junior angler while dad seeks out the specimens. Anglers tend to focus on fishing boilies here, although pellets and maggots should not be ignored. On a warmer day, the island pegs do fish well, although fishing a secluded bay tends to produce the better stamp of fish. Try a big, smelly bait in conjunction with a small PVA bag of small pellets, dead maggots and chopped boilies for the best results.
