MOST people are up early opening presents on the morning of their birthday, but Harvey Cross decided to go fishing instead – and caught this pristine 3lb 2oz tench!
The nine-year-old was treated to a morning’s sport by his dad at Hampshire’s Mopley Pond fishery, and fished sweetcorn close to the bank in hope of a few fish.
Sure enough, the birthday boy didn’t have to wait long before the tinca picked up his hookbait.
