- STEVE FITZPATRICK EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

CAN you imagine setting your stall out to catch over 900 small roach? It makes me sweat just thinking about it, but that’s exactly what Steve Ringer did to win his recent festival on Inniscarra Reservoir – and he did all on the feeder!

The venue has been very kind to him in the last few years. It was where he won his World Feeder Champs gold and helped England to victory in 2014, and his recent win was nothing short of remarkable.

He averaged over 20lb of roach each day, and to be able to achieve that you need some serious tricks. This week he takes us through what he did to win and reveals how you can catch roach faster this season.

Talking of big silvers, there are a lot of chub on the feed at the moment and this week we’ll help you catch your share of them with great advice from our team of experts.

My colleague Mark Sawyer had a brilliant time on one of the Trent’s weir pools, as our cover picture shows, but there are loads of other waters producing big bags, and specimen fish too. You can find a stretch near you in our Where to Fish pages this week. Before you go, make sure you pick up some casters – our resident ‘Bait Doctor’ Paul Garner swears by them, and it’s quite amazing how many of these big-mouthed munchers get caught on such tiny baits.
