206lb SHORE SKATE!

“FIGHTING this incredible fish was like trying to pull a car bonnet up from the bottom.”

Those are the words of Ben Eastman from South Wales, who had a battle on his hands when he caught this colossal 206lb skate from the shore.

The 24-yearold fished a mackerel hookbait from a mark in Oban, Scotland with a group of friends during a trip that also produced common skate weighing 210lb, 202lb and 92lb.

“This was the first time I’ve ever been skate fishing and just seeing one huge fish would have been enough – but to do battle with one like this is something I’ve been dreaming of since I was a boy,” said Ben.
