on the Grendon Pond. Second was Ian Pretty with 18-4-0 of skimmers and a few carp using long pole and pellet from Brickyard Pond peg 11.

After a spell away from the match scene, the Cock Bank saw steady fishing. It couldn’t compete with Factory Bank, which produced the leading weights. Martin Roper won with 13-15-0. The Sensas Mark one man fished pinkie and squatt over groundbait to catch small roach and perch. The same tactics saw Andrew Kilby claim second with 13-6-0 of roach and perch. This annual event drew a big crowd and handsome sponsorshi­p from Preston Innovation­s. Gary Mitchell took top spot with 75-0-0 of carp to double figures at peg 19 on the Barley Pool. This opening round produced some super weights and a double ton winner for Dave Jarvis. He fished maggot at 11m from peg 30 on the Long Lake to take 207-13-0 of carp. On the team front, Matrix Wensum Valley Angling Pools Fodder emerged winners with a superb five-point score.
