STAFFORD MOOR SILVERMANIAC FINAL (SUN) Tanner’s Lake (18 pegs)

CHELTENHAM angler Andy Griffiths is £1,000 better off after winning Stafford Moor’s Silvermaniac Final.

The event saw 18 qualifiers going head-to-head on Tanner’s Lake at the Devon fishery, and Andy recorded 10-5-0 on a bitterly cold day to take the prize.

Incredibly, he drew the same peg that he qualified off the day before! That was 36, where Andy fished the long pole with red maggot to winkle out small skimmers and roach plus a couple of bonus tench.

That put him just 5oz in front of Bradley Gibbons, who from peg 4 swapped between long pole with maggot and pellet and a small cage feeder for 10-0-0 of skimmers and a tench. Result: 1 A Griffiths, Cheltenham, 10-5-0; 2 B Gibbons, Maver, 10-0-0; 3 C Bailey, Stafford Moor, 8-10-0; 4 C Davies, Bristol, 5-13-0; 5 P Randell, Sensas, 5-8-0; 6 A Marshall, Banstead, 5-7-0.
