I took plenty of cast­ers, worms and mag­gots but ended up not need­ing lots of bait.

If you were on a lot of fish you could at­tack the peg with a bit of bait, but I found it much safer to feed just ground­bait, slightly over­wet­ted so it formed a cloud.

I’d add a pinch of very finely chopped worms ev­ery so of­ten if I felt the swim needed an in­jec­tion of bait or the fish were too small.

For ground­bait I had a mix of Dy­na­mite Fren­zied Hemp Black, Van Den Eynde G5 and brown crumb. This mix has a fairly high food con­tent but I fed very lit­tle in the way of par­ti­cles.

I added some chopped worms only as needed.
