The New Match Lake has been fish­ing well de­spite the cold con­di­tions, and an­glers have been catch­ing plenty of carp and sil­ver­fish in bags over 40lb. Red mag­got net­ted a 24lb bag of sil­vers for one an­gler on the Plea­sure lake re­cently. WIL­LOWS LAKES, LONDON COLNEY, HERTS

A 50lb net of carp av­er­ag­ing 5lb is pos­si­ble on the Method feeder with mag­gots from the Match Lake. For a mixed net of carp av­er­ag­ing 10lb and sil­vers head to Willow Pool, where sim­i­lar tactics can be used. The Small Lake is on fire at the mo­ment and an­glers are tar­get­ing the sil­ver­fish as well as plenty of carp. Mag­gots are prov­ing a pop­u­lar bait for a mix of species but you can still catch a net to 50lb-plus us­ing pel­lets. Peg 1 is the hotspot out of the 30 plat­forms on this lake.
