Magnificent ‘seven’ from Great Ouse

STEVE Stones got his winter chub campaign off to a flyer with this 7lb 6oz Great Ouse fish.

The 45-year-old Korum consultant from Stamford, Lincs, had been trying to catch a ‘seven’ from the Midlands waterway for the past four seasons, and he finally achieved his goal during an evening session last week.

The thickset fish, which is a new personal best by 1oz, fell to a paste hookbait mounted on a size 8 hook and presented on a short 10lb braided hooklink.
