TRY A STATIC BAIT

If moving baits aren’t working, which can sometimes happen when the water temperature drops down very low, try a static bait presented with a feeder out in the river, a small bomb, or a link leger made up with shots close in. A 6ins paternoster and a 3ft-4ft tail can often bring bites after a fruitless few hours on the float when it’s really cold.
