ALEX Grice’s decision to target silt patcheds among heavy weed at a Cambridgeshire pit paid off when he slipped the net under this 34lb 12oz common.

“The first night passed without a bleep, but I left the rigs in place and at around 1pm the bait on my left-hand rod was picked up and I hooked into a heavy specimen,” said Alex.
