Do you have the courage to try different baits?

-

PHIL Reynolds’s article in last week’s Angling Times regarding his success with macaroni cheese made for interesting reading, but it did get me thinking – will fish eat literally anything?

I have heard of fish being caught on all sorts of weird things including berries, potatoes and even meatballs!

We all spend hours preparing for our next session but do we spend too much time thinking about bait choice? Could we simply lump whatever we find on the hook and still experience the same levels of success?

I think we probably could, but like every angler in the country I haven’t got the guts to put that theory into practice, and I will stick to what I know best, just in case I am completely wrong!
