BOTTOM OF THE SHELF PERCH LINE
Many rivers now hold some big fish that can be caught at the bottom of the near shelf where the depth levels out. This can be as close as just four sections of pole out into the river. Here the pole rules, fishing the tail of a lobworm on a big float and hook, feeding chopped worm and casters with a bait dropper. Try to angle this swim down the peg slightly away from where you are sat.
