Denis White nets 120 fish on a cold canal

THE evergreen Denis White topped this latest round on a cold canal affected by snow water with 16-6-0 of perch.

Denis drew on the Road section and fished chopped worm and caster on the long pole to net 120 fish, his final tally putting him well in front of Andy Beech’s 10-10-0 of roach and perch taken on pole and maggot.

Result: 1 D White, Maver/Drennan Barnsley Blacks, 16-6-0; 2 A Beech, Wakefield, 10-10-0; jt3 B Foster, Tackle 2U and A Fox, Bradford, both 5-6-0; 5 M Wood, Pontefract, 5-14-0; 6 M Highe, Mirfield AC, 4-12-0.
