QUAKERS LOOK HOME AND DRY...

...but skimmers and perch seal win for local rod

- ANGLING TRUST NORTH EAST WINTER LEAGUE (SUN) River Tees, Bowesfield & Yarm (70 pegs) Result: 1 P Rambow Snr, Yarm, 20-8-0; 2 P Close, Mosella Quaker, 19-2-0; 3 C Routledge, Cleveland Angling Centre, 16-3-0; 4 P Rambow Jnr, Darlington Angling Centre, 14-0

WITH just one round remaining, Mosella Quaker seem to have the league firmly sewn up.

On an in-form River Tees they won the day on 53 points, ahead of Cleveland Angling Centre, to go three clear of Maver NE.

Top rod was local legend Peter Rambow Senior, with 20-8-0 of skimmers and perch taken on groundbait feeder with worm and red maggot.

A combination of feeder and long pole and maggot helped Mosella man Peter Close take second with a 19-12-0 mix of skimmers, perch and dace.
