Come on Keith , get your facts right

I’VE just read my mate Keith Arthur’s comments in Angling Times (March 7) regarding the river closed season.

First, Ireland. Keith fails to mention the thousands of fish that have been removed by trawlers from Lough Erne. This has had a huge effect on the fishing there for many years, as all the local anglers will tell you.

Second, Denmark. Tommy Pickering’s record catch came from Skanderborg Lake, not a river as Keith suggests. People stopped going to that lake because groundbait was banned on there. As far as I can gather, the river fishing over there is still excellent all year. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but come on Keith, get your facts right! Dave Harrell, Rugby, Warks
